Theme Thursday: Celebration

Project 365 fell by the wayside a bit because I was sick this past week. Yay: I now have one more concern to raise at my physical exam in September.
Onwards to today’s picture, which was taken almost a year ago during the wedding of my niece (and her now-husband. Can’t have a wedding without both parties!)
V is the first of my nieces and nephews to get married, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the man she chose to marry! C is a really great guy who has felt like family since the day we met. I’m really happy that they found each other.
Hey! There are more Theme Thursday submissions here.
Project 365: Day Eight
I realize that this is technically supposed to be a one-photo-per-day deal, but I’m the boss of me, so I’m making an exception.
We don’t have basements in Southern California, so most of my experience with them prior to moving to Canada involved horror movies where bad things happened to good girls. Happily, my basement doesn’t really have much of a creepy vibe, unlike the one in my brother’s old place. Quick fact: there was a corner that their dogs gave a wide berth to. We still don’t know what was up with that.
Anyways, onwards:

A door in the sunny yellow kitchen opens to stairs that descend into darkness.

Widening the door brightens the area slightly, and it doesn’t look as bad as it did before…

…until you realize that, beneath the staircase, there is a TROLL ROOM.
If you’re a bok-bok-chicken-scaredy-cat, those two words sum up the way I feel about the room. It’s really not all that scary with the lights on, but I think the picture captures the slightly disconcerting feel of the area.
Pleasant dreams, kids!
Project 365: Day Seven

This is the archway between the dining room and living room area. As I contemplated what to do today, I noticed the big empty space above it. Being Filipino, I was thinking that a tapestry of the Last Supper might be in order.
